Alex took up triathlon following a swimming career in which she had swum competitively since the age of ten years old.  She reached an international standard and represented GB at the World Championships in 2003 and the European Short course championships in 2004.  Alex was ranked in the top 3 nationally in the 100m and 200m Individual medley and was national champion in the 100m butterfly event before she was forced to curtail her swimming following a shoulder injury in May 2006.

Having moved into Triathlon, within her first season she won the Swanage Olympic distance triathlon and was 3rd in the Bournemouth international triathlon.  She was selected to attend a GB elite women squad training week at Swansea and a GB senior camp in Aguilas, Spain.  She gained some valuable experience from these and hopes to be selected for further camps in the future. 

 Alex is currently in her 4th year at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth and is a practicing sports massage practitioner having qualified with the London School of Sports Massage in 2003.
