This plan is based around doing 8 -12 hours per week and is aimed at athletes partcipating in their second or third season at this distance. The goal of this plan is to focus on an improved performance key targets can be discussed with your coach.

Ideally you should have already completed at least a one or two middle distances races (1.9k/90k/21k) 

The plan will focus on training in specific heart rates and will require you to use a heart rate monitor. This race has a lovely lake swim followed by an undulating bike course and a tough mainly off road run. So the sting is in the tail of the race and respect needs to be given by consistent and progressive work.

This plan will be customised by your coach to fit around your life and work. Your coach will pay careful attention to your possible race limiters ( Those areas you believe are holding your performance back) and will focus the plan towards improving this element of your race whilst maintaining your key strengths.
