Description
This Training Plan is aimed at the first time Triathlete. You may be regularly working out in the health club or Leisure Centre. This plan will help you through each of the 3 elements of completing your first Triathlon.
It is designed help you get around and feel confident that you can cope with the distances involved. This is very much for those just starting out, If you are looking to compete rather than complete check out some of our more advanced plans.
If you have any concern about your health or have any injuries please consult your medical practitioner before continuing with any training programme.
All Training plans are delivered through an online training diary, after purchasing your plan we will send you a login and password to your account. Your training plan will be loaded onto your online training diary. Each day you will get an e-mail to explain your training for that day and the next. Please allow 24 hours for the completion of this process. You will be able to record notes against any workouts and upload any training files from training devices such as heart rate monitors or GPS devices.
The plan is 12 weeks long and is broken into 3 x 4 week blocks of training. The 4th week in each block is used to recover from the previous 3 weeks training and measure the progress you have made with some specific sessions.
This plan provides 6 sessions of training per week with optional sessions for those that would like to do a little more.
The workouts are measured in most cases in time rather than distance. To complete this plan you need access to a pool, a bike or static bike like a spin bike and access to run outside or on a treadmill. There are also suggested resistance exercise that can be completed at home or in a gym.
